C&S participated in the 2018 Light The Night event in Cleveland on October 7 to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and their fight against blood cancers. According to the organization, the Light The Night event “brings light to the darkness of cancer. The light and warmth we generate delivers hope in time of despair, community in place of loneliness and life-saving RESEARCH & SUPPORT for cancer patients and their families. Each year, friends, families and co-workers gather together to celebrate, honor & remember those touched by cancer.” Walkers carry illuminated lanterns in three colors: white lanterns are carried by survivors; red lanterns by supporters; gold lanterns are carried by those walking in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.
We raised money companywide to support this important cause—one that has touched the lives of many of our employees. Through fundraising events including dress-down days, bingo, and a happy hour, we raised more than $12,000, which was 7th overall in corporate fundraising this year. Our group manager for aviation engineering, Matt Wenham, leads this event for the firm and was the third place individual fundraiser! Numerous companies that we work with frequently also contributed to the effort.
The mission of LLS is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
