C&S chairman emeritus Orrin “Mac” MacMurray was honored with an honorary degree from Onondaga Community College at the college’s 51st commencement ceremony on May 17, 2014. Mac has been very involved in the college’s governance and development and is presently secretary of the OCC Foundation.

The honorary doctorate degree is the highest form of recognition offered by the State University of New York to persons of exceptional distinction. This year, Onondaga Community College honored three distinct individuals who have exhibited professional excellence, meritorious and outstanding service, and whose accomplishments serve as examples of the SUNY system’s diverse student body. In addition to MacMurray, the college honored Ginny Donohue, founder of On Point for College; and Dr. Ruth Colvin, founder of Literacy Volunteers of America.
